Hip-hop fans and movie lovers around the world are all gearing up for the highly-anticipated All Eyez on Me, the uncensored biopic of late rapper Tupac Shakur. Directed by Benny Boon, who has flexed his directing prowess for NCIS: Los Angeles, Empire, and 90210, the film will cover everything from Shakur’s time at Death Row Records to his relationship with friend turned rival The Notorious B.I.G. With most of the production detail largely kept under wraps, new footage of the film has emerged. The one-minute clip features Tupac actor Demetrius Shipp Jr. having a conversation with actress Danai Gurira, who is tasked with playing the role of Afeni Shakur. The two are shown comforting one another, reassuring that they will take care of one another.
All Eyez on Me is slated to hit theaters on June 17, which would have been Tupac’s 46th birthday. If you need your fix, check out the latest trailer for the film, where Tupac tries to impress Jada Pinkett with a poem.
